RELAPSE PREVENTION PROGRAM



ALCOHOL, DRUGS andPROBLEM GAMBLING

South Country Treatment Centre offers a one week aftercare, residential program for relapse prevention. This service is for adults who have

completed any residential treatment program for alcoholism, drug dependency or problem gambling. Prior to admission, individuals must have completed a residential treatment program a minimum of three months prior.

Individuals who have relapsed are encouraged to participate, however, a minimum of five days abstinence from

alcohol, drugs and gambling prior to the start of the program is required. A nominal fee is charged at the time of admission.



Program Overview

This program begins with admittance to South Country Treatment Program on Sunday afternoons. During treatment the material presented will include Assertive Communication and Conflict Resolution; Irrational Thinking and Defense Mechanisms; Anger and It’s Consequences; Relationships and Support Systems; Stress Management; and Building a Concrete Program. All material and discussions are focused on relapse prevention. During your treatment, you will continue to attend Alcoholics Anonymous,
Cocaine Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous or Gamblers Anonymous during

several evenings.

This program is offered four times a year and are selected to correspond with

high risk time periods.
