The road to recovery takes a lot of hard work and support in order for a client to remain substance and gambling free. To acknowledge this achievement, South Country Treatment Centre presents a medallion to the client at:
• 6 months
• 1 year
• And then every 5 years after
This is a symbol of their continued accomplishments and it gives them the chance to share their experience, strength and hope with current clients in treatment. The counselor who worked with the client gives a summary of the client’s experience at South Country Treatment Centre and then the client has the opportunity to share his or her story.
This presentation is an important part of recovery and it gives the clients who are currently in treatment the encouragement to stay substance and gambling free in order to achieve this accomplishment. Medallion presentations are booked ahead of time, any client wishing to be acknowledged for their accomplishment can call our main number (403) 329-6603 and speak to our Program Secretary to book for their medallion presentation. Medallion presentations are on the third Friday of each month. All clients receiving a medallion have their first name and last name initial put on a plaque, which hangs in our activity room at South Country Treatment Centre. These plaques are a reminder to every one that it is possible to “Take Back Your Life”.
