It is only when problems are approached in a comprehensive manner, with compassion and understanding, that solutions are possible.
An orientation session is held with each new admission. This session serves as an informal presentation of the treatment program. This session allows staff and the individual to discuss expectations, answer questions about the treatment program and address other concerns the individual may have.
South Country Treatment Centre believes problems of addictions are so extensive that virtually all areas of family and
community life are affected. By the time treatment is sought, the life of the dependent person is typically a hodgepodge of
unpredictable behaviors, emotional ups and downs, strained or broken relationships, financial insecurity and other problems. South Country Treatment Centre provides a program
environment in which the individual can begin to experience an orderly, goal directed pattern of living and begin to make sense out of their life again.
Lifelong patterns of dependency are not easily broken. Considerable time and effort are required to develop new attitudes, feelings and behaviors to replace those which were previously established. The Centre believes if individuals, in the course of their initial treatment, can gain acceptance of their dependency, with all its complications, they can
achieve a readiness to change their attitudes and behaviors. Over time the individual will start to establish a strong foothold on recovery.
